Black Cat Items by Shafford, Wales, & others at Krazy Cat Collectibles

This White Dog on Boot Planter is a vintage item that is still in great condition. It was made in the USA (markings on the bottom). It measures approx. 4 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches long. The bottom of the planter is discolored and there are some small chips in the paint on the bottom. There is also some crazing on different parts of this piece. All of these imperfections, however, do not seriously detract from the integrity of this piece.

Vintage Black Cat with Yellow Hat sugar/creamer set by Norcrest. Both pieces are 3-footed and have gold wire bail handles. These funny kitties have blue eyes and gold whiskers and is wear a bright yellow hat.

The sugar bowl stands approx. 4 1/4 inches high and the creamer measures approx. 4 inches in height.

Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, but as usual on this line of kitty items, the yellow cold paint on the hat is very fragile and flakes off easily. Facial paint is excellent and very vibrant.

The ceramic is in good shape but the yellow paint on the hat is very fragile and is peeling off in some areas. Both pieces have Norcrest mark in gold on bottom - an "N" in a circle and a paper Japan label.

Vintage Black Cat with Yellow Hat 3-footed Teapot with wire bail handle made by Norcrest.

A wonderful funny black kitty cat teapot! In excellent condition except for the cold yellow paint. As usual on this line of kitty items, the paint is very fragile and flakes off easily. Facial paint is excellent and very vibrant.

This is a small teapot, approx. 4" tall and 5" wide. Norcrest mark in gold on bottom - an "N" in a circle.

Vintage Shafford 1950's Black Cat Long Boy (1 piece) S/P. A great find!! Two holes on the head and 3 holes on his rump!!

He has green eyes, white whiskers, and red ears and bow tie. In very good condition - no chips, etc. Some minor paint wear to the cold paint on his face. He is 10" long.

Vintage 1950s Shafford Black Cat Creamer (or pitcher) is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or flakes. Only some minor wear to the cold paint on the white whiskers, but red paint on bow is excellent. Has green eyes.

Kitty stands 5-1/2" tall and from spout to handle is about 5-1/2" wide. No marking on this item, but it is by Shafford.

Vintage 1950s Shafford Black Cat Planter or Sugar Bowl. Sugar bowls normally have a lid, so I think this is actually a planter. Kitty is in very good condition - no chips, cracks, etc. Some minor paint wear to his whiskers. The red paint on his bow is excellent. He has green eyes of course!

Stands about 4-1/2" tall. There is no mark on this kitty, but it is Shafford. Made in Japan.

Shafford Black Cat Handled Mug. This mug is "AS IS" - It has been broken and repaired in two places - A bad break and repair on the rim of the cup, and on the kitty - his tail and bottom leg have been re-glued.

This is a hard to find item, and quite expensive when in mint condition, so I thought someone might have a use for it until they can upgrade. Unfortunately, or fortunately - depending on your sense of humor - the cold paint, which is usually worn, is in mint condition on this mug!! Mug is 4" tall - Marked 838 on the bottom.

Vintage Black Cat Creamer by Wales from the 1950's. Cat creamer is in very good condition - there is some wear to the cold paint on the big red bow. No chips, cracks, or flakes.

Wales produced black cats to compete with the popular Shafford line, but made their cats with yellow eyes instead of green.

This kitty teapot stands approximately 5-1/2" tall and from spout to handle is about 6-1/4" wide. It has the Wales paper label on the bottom. Made in Japan.

This cat is exactly like the Shafford item - like they were made from the same mold. The only difference is the eye color.

Vintage 1950's Redware Black Cat Teapot w/Wire Bail Handle. This cat has yellow eyes with gold whiskers and I believe this teapot was made by Wales. It is one of the harder black cat teapots to find.

Teapot is in fine condition with no chips, cracks, etc., however there some minor wear to the cold red paint of his bow tie and his eyebrows.

There is no marking on this teapot. Teapot is approx. 5-1/2" tall and 7-1/2" wide.

Black Cat S/P - sitting with rounded handles - I think by Wales dating to the 1950s. They have yellow eyes with gold whiskers and red bows.

Cat heads are the S/P's and bodies are the sugar & creamer part. In very good condition - no chips, cracks or flea bites. There is some minor wear to the cold paint.

The kitties are about 5-1/2" tall and from spout to handle approx. 5-1/4" wide. Both pieces have the paper Wales label on the bottom.

This is a hard to find set and would make a great addition to any black cat collection!

These kitties have yellow eyes, gold whiskers, and red ears and bow ties. Approx. 3" tall. They are in very good condition with only minor paint wear. No chips, cracks, etc. From the 1950's.

They are a wonderful set, in good condition with no chips, cracks, etc. However there is some heavy paint wear to the cold paing. They have gold eyes, whiskers and red ears, noses, and bow ties.

They stand about 5" tall. No marking on them, but they are vintage Japan.
