Lion Cast Iron Bookends, painted green. The lion is sitting on a log and there is an arrow that "missed" pointing toward the ground. In very good condition - some minor scuffing of the paint. Not sure what the metal is - could be brass. It has a goldish cast to the bottom (the bottom isn't painted) which isn't typical of cast iron. They are 3-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" long. They are each marked on the back: Copyright 1928 / Connecticut Foundry Co.
